Nearly 140 media representatives  swarmed to Pace for the vote of the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission that refused to landmark a building proposed for an Islamic study center, thereby blocking it.

The Commission voted 9-0 to give a green light the construction of a multipurpose Islamic community center in Lower Manhattan, two blocks from the site of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
